1) Choose either the solid or slotted spoon to suit your food type The solid spoon is ideal for mixing, stirring, basting, accurate measuring and lifting out foods. The slotted spoon is perfect for skimming, or lifting out foods to drain, such as potatoes from water, chicken from stock or broth, or removing fried foods from fat or oil.
2) Place the handle of the spoon into the palm of your hand so that the palm and wrist are facing the ceiling The perfect position is to have the spoon the right way up with the handle inside the palm of your hard. You should be able to see the underside of your wrists.
3) Use you 4 fingers to grip the spoon handle whilst letting your thumb rest flat on the side A lot of people wrap their thumb around the handle too, but this leads to less control of your spoon when turning and flipping. By keeping your thumb flat against the side of your spoon, you gain a lot more control.
4) Hold the pot or frying pan you are using with your opposite hand It’s a simple thing, but we’ve seen many people stirring foods without using their other hand to hold the pan steady. This simple tip will give you much more control as the pan will not move from under the foods you are trying to flip.
5) If lifting out liquids, gently shake the spoon from side to side so the excess drops back into the pan Our spoons have an innovative groove and lip, which will stop liquids from spilling out when serving.
6) If draining foods before serving, gently shake the spoon from side to side to remove excess This will mean less chance of splattering on countertops and plates.
