1) Cutting / snipping foods How much easier do you think it is to cut chicken breasts into bite size portions with kitchen shears instead of needing a cutting board and knife? You could even snip chicken directly into a saucepan or frying pan – no mess, no stress! You can also snip herbs directly into a pan or on top of a salad.
Ever washed some cilantro and tried to chop it using a knife while it’s soggy? How much easier is this task when you can just snip them? Then there’s trimming fat off meat. Unless you’re a real knife smith, using shears is far easier and more accurate.

Q: Does it cut lobster?
A: Definitely! These are very strong shears designed to cut through hard plastic, tough corrugated cardboard and tough meats. So they are definitely able to cut lobster.
Q: Are these heavy duty enough to spatchcock chicken and turkey?
A: Absolutely! These kitchen shears are perfect for spatchcocking (also known as butterflying). Removing the backbone of a bird is almost impossible with a knife, but our shears make light work of this task, and it’s safer than a knife on slippery flesh.
Q: Are these good for cutting flower stems for arrangements?
A: Yes! These shears are so sharp and accurate, you can cut multiple stems in one snip. You can also trim plants.
Q: Can these help with opening jars?

Q: What are the blades made from?

Q: Do the scissor blades come apart for cleaning?
A: No, these scissors do not come apart, and there really is no need. There is a no-rust cap covering the screw that holds the blades together, which means no food particles can get trapped there. The blades are very easily cleaned by rinsing with detergent and water.
Q: Are they dishwasher safe?
A: Our kitchen shears can be washed in a dishwasher, just like most knives. But we don’t recommend this. With any type of blade, dishwashers speed up blunting, which means you will need to sharpen your blades earlier. We recommend you hand rinse with detergent and water. If you really need to thoroughly disinfect, mix up a solution of vinegar and water, and rinse the blades thoroughly with this solution.
Q: Do these shears come with a cover/sheath?
A: No, these do not come with a sheath as they don’t need too much protection from the environment. We do, however, recommend that they are kept separate to other blades, so as not to cause premature blunting. Many of our customers hang up their sheers on a hook, or store them on the Chef Remi Magnetic Knife Holder.
Q: Can these be sharpened when they dull?
A: Yes. You can sharpen the blades using a knife sharpener. We recommend using the fine grinder slot of the Chef Remi Knife Sharpener (link to product when live on Shopify site). Please be aware, however, that we have designed the blades to withstand blunting, so sharpening regularly is not required.
Q: Does it rust?
A: Our kitchen shears simply cannot rust as they are made from 100% food-grade stainless steel. Stainless steel has chromium added to it which stops the steel from rusting. Additionally, we have added a no-rust cap to the screw that holds the two blades together, so even the screw can’t rust. You will get many years of use out of our shears without rusting issues. Q: Do the handles have some sort of rubber or soft grip on them? I’m allergic to latex.
A: No. The handles are ergonomic and very comfortable, but they are made from solid, antimicrobial plastic that will not cause any reaction.
Q: Are they easy for left handed people to use?
A: Our kitchen shears have an ingenious, interchangeable handle design, which means both left and right handed people can use them.
Q: Does the metal run all the way through the handles? I'm worried about the handles breaking. Are the handles durable?
