1) Use the large grate for grating semi-hard cheeses, or shredding vegetables such as cabbage, potato, etc The large grate is fantastic for creating perfectly shredded cheese to use in sandwiches, or for sprinkling over dishes. It’s also great for quickly shredding large vegetables – much more efficient than using a knife. You can even use our box grater to quickly shred fresh potatoes......homemade hash browns are so much tastier than grocery store versions!
2) Use the fine grate for grating hard cheeses, or mincing onions, garlic, ginger etc The fine grate is perfect for creating smaller cuts of food, such as fine strips of carrot for coleslaw, creating ‘powdery’ Parmesan, or mincing onions, garlic and ginger so that they dissolve into sauces.
You’ll find that you can grate through several onions in under 5 minutes – think of how long it would take you to finely slice and mince onions using a knife!
3) Use the zesting side plate for grinding nuts, herbs and spices, or for zesting citrus fruit The zesting plate makes fast work of zesting citrus fruit. It’s also great for grinding fresh nuts, herbs and spices, such as almonds or cinnamon. Why buy dried versions when you can finely grind fresh herbs and spices that pack in ten times as much flavor?
