The Best ‘Leftover Pumpkin’ Recipes Online
Quite possibly the most fun thing to do on Halloween, apart from dressing up as your favorite scary character, is carving Jack O’ Lanterns.
They’re a hit with children, of course, but even adults love seeing those ghastly pumpkin faces lit up from within. Which is why we gave you a step by step guide to easy, fuss-free pumpkin carving this Halloween.
However, this does leave a lot of leftover pumpkin flesh, and it would be a shame to waste it.
We’ve scoured the internet for you, and found five brilliant, delicious pumpkin recipes.
Four of these recipes ask for pumpkin puree, which you can buy in cans. Instead, make your own pumpkin puree from your leftover carvings (much tastier than canned pumpkin).
Simply cook pumpkin chunks (seeds removed) in water for 20 minutes. Then mash with a potato masher, or use a food processor.
Your pumpkin puree will last up to 3 days in the fridge, or you can freeze in batches as this will make the puree last for up to 6 months.
Just think. You could be enjoying a ‘leftover Halloween pumpkin’ dish in spring next year!
