Salad with Lettuce, Pineapple and Ham
The holiday season is known for food, large amount of fat laden food. And though I personally don’t have any complaint about devouring said edible treats, we all must watch what we eat.
So with that said, and to make us feel less guilty about ingesting tons of cholesterol this holiday season,
Try my recipe for Salad with Lettuce, Pineapple and Ham recipe.
Your Ingredients:
5 tbsp of extra virgin olive oil
For the chilli basil dressing
1 tsp of sweet chilli sauce
3 tbsp of chopped fresh basil leaves
2 tbsp of lemon
For the salad
1 canned pineapple (if you have access to fresh pineapple, much better)
12 slices of ham
3 x 125g mozzarella balls
1 head of green lettuce
A few Italian basil leaves
How to make your Salad with Lettuce, Pineapple and Ham
For the dressing:
Mix together the chopped basil, chilli sauce and olive oil with 1 tbsp of lemon.
Add a bit of ground pepper and salt to taste.
For the salad:
Slice your pineapple into thin lengthwise strips. Slice your mozzarella too.
As for plating, feel free to play around with it. But from my end, here’s how I do it.
I start with the base which is my pineapple. Then I add the ham, and top it off with the lettuce leaves. Then I sprinkle it with mozzarella and drizzle the entire dish with the dressing.
Lastly, another round of salt and pepper, and garnish it off with Italian basil.

Salad’s are always good in my book. This salad however, blows my past knowledge of salads out of the water! Pineapple and ham in a salad sound so good. Its very simple and not time consuming. The taste sounds complex and yet still light and nutritious. This article explained everything out for someone like me who freezes up when making new meals in fear of messing up. The pictures are absolutely gorgeous and mouthwatering as well!
