Original New York Cheesecake
Most would think of hotdogs and steak when New York and food is mentioned. But for me, it’s all about the sweet and creamy New York Cheesecake. Don’t get me wrong, of course I love hot dogs and steak. But I love cheesecake even more.
Anyone who has tasted an original New York cheesecake would have to agree that it leaves an impression that is hard to get rid of. And with the holiday season in full swing, allow me to show you how you can make your own original New York cheesecake in no time.

How to make your Original New York Cheesecake
Get a small bowl and mix your sugar, walnuts and wafer crumbs. Stir in the butter after.
Once mixed, take a 10 inch, ungreased, springform pan and press the mixture until it reaches halfway up the sides of the pan.
Then freeze the entire mixture for 15 minutes.
Now get a large bowl and beat the sugar, sour cream and cream cheese until the mixture becomes smooth.
Add eggs into the mixture. Make sure beat the egg into the mix at low speed. The idea is just to combine the egg into the mixture.
Now add your lemon juice and milk into the mixture until everything blends together
Then pour the mixture into the crust and bake for 40 minutes at 350°F.
Combine your vanilla, sugar and sour cream and spread it over your cheesecake and bake for another 10 minutes.
Allow cheesecake to cool for 10 minutes.
Once cool, take a knife and run it around the edge of the pan. Allow cheesecake to cool further for another hour.
Garnish with chocolate syrup and candies and refrigerate overnight before serving.

A cheesecake is one of the things I should’ve tried when I was in New York. At least now with this recipe I can make my own in the comfort of my home. I’d probably switch out the toppings for strawberries though.
