Whoever first thought of making sliders was a genius! I love the idea of how it tricks my mind into telling me that I can have one more because it’s smaller than what I’m used to eating. Like I said, absolute genius!
Anyway, if you are planning to have a garden or tailgate party, then sliders are something that you need to have. And if you haven't tried making one yet, don't worry. Just follow our guide and you and your friends will be munching on some juicy miniaturized burgers in no time.
Your Ingredients:
10 halved, hamburger buns
500g of minced beef
1/3 cup of dry breadcrumbs
1 large grated onion, grated
20ml (1 tablespoon) of Worcestershire sauce
1/3 cup tomato sauce, and a bit more to serve
1/2 tbsp of dried mixed herbs
1 egg yolk
80ml (1/3 cup) of olive oil
10 slices of tasty cheese
BBQ sauce and baby rocket leaves
You also need a cocktail stick when serving
How to make your Mini Hamburgers
First you need to get a 4 cm pastry cutter and use it to cut the hamburger buns into smaller pieces. Once done, set aside. Also, it would be better if you do this beforehand.
Now go get a bowl and mix together your egg yolk, mixed herbs, tomato and Worcestershire sauce, grated onions breadcrumbs and minced beef. Make sure to mix them well, and don't forget to season it with salt and pepper.
Once done, go wet your hand and form 30 small burger patties. Once done, refrigerate them for 30 minutes.
After 30 minutes, go heat your oil in a large non stick pan and fry the patties for not more than 2 minutes on each sides. This will make their center rare.
Once you're through frying all of them, place them on an oven tray and refrigerate.
Heat the oil in a large, non-stick fry pan. Fry the burgers in batches for 1-2 minutes each side; they should still be rare in the center.
Start to preheat your oven to 170°C.
Now go get yourself a large oven tray, cover it with aluminum foil, and throw it in the oven for 6 minutes.
Once done, go get your patties and top them with cheese, and throw them in the oven for 5 minutes.
Now get your patties and sit them over a bun, top it with rockets, tomato or BBQ sauce.
Place the top of the buns over your patties and use a cocktail stick to secure it.
Serve hot.

I love sliders for so many reasons butr don’t you really like how one perfect tomato slice fits on there perfectlty lol I can never decide how to do tomato slices on a bigger burger. Do you put three or two or just one big one in the middle. Honestly though I do think sliders are a great idea because I know I am always full after eating a big burger and these are so cute and perfect for a small protein .

Making mini hamburgers is an awesome idea! I’ve heard of these from a few different health websites, but never had the chance to try them. Seems like an excellent recipe and I will have to try it next time I have a barbecue. One quick question: do you know the calorie content of these? I am trying to balance my macros and would like to know what the protein/carbs ratio is. Thank you!

Ooh, my mouth is watering just from looking at this. I’ve never made my own patties before, so maybe I’m just being ignorant here, but the inclusion of ingredients like the egg looks really unique, and sounds soooo savory. Definitely looking forward to trying some of these!
