Lovers Heart Salad
Cooking time: 5 minutes
Total time: 10 minutes
Servings: 3 (but you can make as many as you want)
This is one of those dishes that I find hard to eat. I mean, look at it. How could anyone have the heart to munch on them without letting out a little awwwwww.
Looking at it, I know you would agree with me that the dish looks more of an arts and craft project than cooking, but don’t worry as I even ask my kids to help me out first time I made them.
And if you feel that making this for Valentines Day would evoke a “to much cheese” (dish specific pun) reaction from your husband, let him be. They’re men, and are hardwired not to show too much praise for adorable things. But deep inside they do appreciate it and silently let utter “Thank you, I love you too”.
Your ingredients:

3 pork sausages
3 cherry tomatoes
Cheddar cheese (refer to image above for quantity)
Italian Basil (refer to image above for quantity)
Toothpicks (to serve as skewers)
How to make your Lovers Heart Salad
Cut your sausages at a 45 degree angle. I suggest that you refer to the image above for you to ascertain the correct angle and size of your heart sausages.
Use the same process to cut your cherry tomatoes.
For your cheese, cut small triangular pieces, two of each to form heart piece. You have the option to either just use two triangles that would serve as the arrowhead and fletching of your arrow.
Now get the sausages and form them into a heart.
Use toothpick to hold them together and attach your cheese arrowhead and fletching on each end.
Plating
If you have a clean slab of wood, like the used one on top, go use it. If not, any plate will do.
Place your Italian Basil leaves flat on your serving tray.
Now place your tomato hearts on top of your basil.
As for the heart sausages, arrange them in the plate as accent

Wow, this is nice, but hope I don’t need a degree in maths to make those lovely shapes, it’s actually amazing how lovely and cute they are, now I realize why you find it hard to munch them.
