How To Use An Avocado Slicer
If you’re an avocado lover, then chances are, you’re an absolute devotee.
Here at Chef Remi, we’re always amazed to see how many blog posts and social media posts there are out there created by ‘avocado nuts’.
However, even if you worship this little green savory fruit, chances are, you HATE preparing it!
Even avocado lovers hate how messy avocado can be. The silly thing is, the avocado has to be ripe for it to taste gorgeous. But when it is ripe, preparing it can be extremely messy.
We’ve created a device that sorts every single avocado preparation issue out.
The Chef Remi Avocado Slicer not only slices avocados into even slices (almost impossible with a knife and a ripe avocado), it has an ingenious, integrated pitting tool, and integrated scoop for mess-free scooping of avocado flesh from the skin, and an integrated knife that can easily halve an avocado.
Here’s our step-by-step guide on how to use our avocado slicer:
1) Halving an avocado
The first thing you will want to do is halve your avocado. Use the serrated knife edge on one end of the avocado slicer to do this.
Position the avocado slicer so the pointed edge is facing up, and the serrated edge is facing to your left.
Hold your avocado vertically, and use the pointed ‘knife edge’ to pierce the avocado through the skin right in the middle of the avocado at its fattest part. Go into the flesh as far as you can till the stone stops you.
Now slide the serrated edge through, going vertically down, till the bottom and then turn the avocado to do the other side.
The two halves should come apart in your hands, but if it’s being stubborn, use your hand to twist the avocado halves in the opposite direction to separate them.
2) Removing the stone / pit
Use the central pitting ‘hole’ in the avocado slicer to get rid of the pit. Locate the side that has ‘teeth’ and push this onto the stone to secure.
Now twist the avocado slicer until you feel the stone move. Use the pointed edge of the avocado slicer to gently push out the stone if it doesn’t fall out by itself.
3) Slicing the avocado flesh into even slices
Hold your avocado half, flesh side up, with the fattest part near the base of your fingers, and the slimmest part near the inside of your wrists.
Use the other end of the avocado slicer (the side that has long slits) and push the slits deep into the avocado flesh at a 45 degree angle.
Pull the avocado slicer through, from top to bottom, to create even avocado slices.
4) Scooping out avocado flesh
Use the pointed end of your avocado slicer and make sure it is turned to the side where the scoop is face up.
Hold your avocado half in the palm of your hand, and then use your other hand to use the scoop to dig out the flesh.
The avocado fruit is a healthy source of nutrition, and best enjoyed without knife related injuries.

The plastic blade of Chef Remi Avocado Slicer makes it so much easier to cut through the avocado skin without the peril of getting injured. The built it plastic knife is not sharp to touch. It is safe even for children.

This avocado slicer is one of the best inventions that is kitchen-related. I can be a little too safety-conscious, which is normal really because I am a mom, and this slicer being made out of plastic is perfect to put my mind at ease. Not only is it safe, it is also extremely versatile and useful as well as being easy to clean. I am going to keep an eye out for any more similar products. Love it!
