How To Use a Jar Opener
We’ve all been there. You’re about to make a delicious meal or snack, you reach for the jar of pickles, or the ketchup bottle... and it’s stuck fast!
You try all sorts, from using a damp cloth, to try to prizing it open with a knife (please don’t do this, it’s dangerous!)
Spare a thought for those who are either elderly, or have hand mobility issues. For these people, opening jars and bottles can become a daily nightmare.
The Chef Remi Jar Opener is a wonderful gadget that eliminates the stress on hand and wrists, and opens even the most stubborn jars and bottles.
We’ve put together a step-by-step guide to using our jar opener, so you’ll never start shouting profanities just because you can’t get inside a jar or bottle!
1) Choose the correct circular opening
The Chef Remi Jar Opener manages to fit in 8 different sizes of jar lids, all in one small, compact device. That’s because of the clever rubber sidings which give each ‘hole’ 2 different sizes.
Keep this in mind when shopping for a jar opener. Sadly, food manufacturers in the USA don’t have a ‘standard’ jar size, so they come in all sizes.
Having a device that can handle more than just 2-4 sizes is imperative.
2) Place the top of the lidded jar into the opening and ensure there are no spaces between the lid and jar opener
We’ve added rubberized grips that cling to jar lids so, as long as you’ve picked the correct opening, there should be no gaps between the jar and the jar opener.
3) Place the jar on a solid surface, such as a kitchen counter top
There’s less chance of food spilling out on to you, and everywhere else, if you keep the jar on a solid surface.
4) Grip the jar opener at the base of the handles, even if you are using the largest circular opening at the other end
For those of you who can still remember some of your physics lessons at school, you’ll be well aware of why you grip at the base of the handles.
The further away your hands are from the axis of rotation (in this case, the jar lid) the more force you will apply on the jar lid, without using much force from your hands.
The Chef Remi Jar Opener can apply ten times more leverage than using your hands alone when used this way!
5) Turn the jar opener in an anti-clockwise motion
US food manufacturers may not be able to agree on jar sizes, but thankfully the vast majority do agree that jars are screwed on clockwise, and unscrewed anti-clockwise.
So turn the handles to the left to unscrew that annoying, tight-lidded jar.
6) Wash food remnants off with soap and water, or throw into a dishwasher.
Jars and bottles tend to be filled almost to the brim, so once you have opened your stuck jar or bottle, chances are, some foods or liquids will have got on to the jar opener.
Simple wash with soap and water, or throw into the dishwasher to make sure your jar opener is clean for the next use, and you don’t contaminate the next jar with remnants of food from previous jar openings.
Are you still struggling with stuck jar lids?
Stop hurting yourself! This is the perfect solution for you.
The Chef Remi Jar Opener provides 10x leverage to hands with limited strength, making it effortless to remove stubborn caps and lids.
Our jar opener is available for $12.95 and is backed with a lifetime guarantee.
Watch how versatile our Jar Opener is as it functions as a bottle opener too.

This seems like a great invention. I usually resort to elastic bands but even that approach does not always work. This device would do a better job than my DIY approach.
