Grilled Cinnamon & Sugar Peaches
Yet another fruit that everyone thinks should only be part of a fruit salad, here’s how to turn peaches into a gorgeous summery dessert, loved by kids and adults alike, directly on your BBQ grill.
Category: Dessert
Preparation time: 10 minutes
Cooking time: 2 minutes
Total time: 12 minutes
Servings: 4
Your Ingredients:
- 2 ripe peaches
- A few sprigs of basil (or mint)
- 3 tablespoons of unsalted butter
- 2 teaspoons of sugar
- 1 teaspoons of cinnamon
- Olive oil
- Vanilla ice cream or whipped cream
N.B. Use Chef Remi Measuring Spoons for accurate measuring of ingredients.
How To Make Your Grilled Cinnamon & Sugar Peaches:
- Heat your BBQ grill to a medium to high heat and place a BBQ grill mat on top of the hot grates.
- Remove the butter from the fridge and let it sit until it gets to room temperature. If you have forgotten to take the butter out from the fridge, and it is too hard, take a small bowl and use a Y-peeler to create thin soft slices – instant soft butter!
- Using a sharp paring knife, slice each peach in half and remove the pit. Set aside.
- Use herb scissors to easily chop up your basil (or mint) leaves. Set aside.
- In a small mixing bowl, combine the butter, sugar and cinnamon thoroughly using a large balloon whisk. Set aside.
- Brush the peach halves with the oil and then place on the hot BBQ grill mat, cut side down, for about 1 minute, until the peaches are soft and a little charred.
- Use a BBQ spatula to compress each peach half down onto the grill mat a few times to get grill marks. Flip over each half to the rounded side and grill for an additional 1 minute.
- Remove from heat and top each peach half with some of the cinnamon and sugar butter, the chopped fresh basil or mint, and serve with a scoop of vanilla ice cream, or some whipped cream.
Our Chef Remi Grill Mats can make grilling, whether indoors or out, so much easier. As foods will no longer touch the grates, there’s no more scrubbing food residue off, or losing precious marinade through grates,
And yet, you’ll still get great sear marks!

This sounds like a great and easy recipe. I just have two questions. First, can this recipe be created in the oven with the same results. The second question is will there be a big difference in taste if I use basil vs mint?
