French Style Crepe with Strawberries, Bananas and Chocolate
If possible, I would love to eat crepes for breakfast, lunch, dinner, brunch, as a midnight snack etc. You get the picture yeah?
Seriously though, I can’t remember a week that I haven’t made crepe at home. I just love how simple they are, and yet have this uncanny ability to make me go “uhmmm this is good” every time.
Now if you have been thinking of making one yourself, just follow the instructions below, for you to join me in saying “uhmmm this is good!!”.
Your Ingredients
For the crepe
1 beaten egg
1/4 cup of skim milk
1/3 cup of water
1 tbsp of vegetable oil
2/3 cup of all-purpose flour
1/4 tsp of white sugar
1 pinch of salt
For the filing
1/2 cup of semisweet chocolate chips
1 cup of sliced fresh strawberries
3/4 cup of thawed frozen whipped topping
How to make your French style crepe with strawberries bananas and chocolate
Get a large bowl and mix the beaten egg, oil, water and milk together.
Once mixed, add in salt, sugar and flour and mix until the mixture becomes smooth.
Now get a medium, non-stick pan and place it over medium heat.
Get a ladleful of your crepe batter and pour it into the middle of the pan. Start tilting the pan from side to side for the batter to coat the entirety of the pan.
Cook batter until it becomes golden brown on both sides. This will take around 5 minutes.
Now get a saucepan, and over medium heat, go melt your chocolates. Stir the chocolate continuously while it melts.
To serve, get your melted chocolate and spread it over one side of the crepe.
Now get some strawberries and place them in an overlapping fashion at the center of the crepe.
Now top it off with some whip cream and another drizzling of melted chocolate.

I actually really liked this recipe! Im usually not very good at follwing recipes like this but it turned out pretty good. The only problem i had was melting the chocolate. I kept buring the bottom of it. Maybe I’m not stirring it enough but I’m not sure. Anyone have any suggestions?

I’ve never made crepes before but this was easy ( I made a different filing with pineapple) very easy. Oh and I melted some Pillsbury frosting and drizzled it overtop.

I didn’t realise crepes were so easy to make! I’d made pancakes before but never crepes. They taste so good – although I’m wondering if that was just because I put HEAPS of chocolate on them lol.

Awesome treat for kids (and myself)… :) And so easy to make it too!
Question, can different frozen fruits be used too? My fridge is full of this goodness and just wondering if it won’t spoil the taste.
Thank you very much, Darius

Beautiful picture, mine never look like that but they taste good so that’s okay. Linda Johnson keep up the stirring and I always keep the heat low/lowish with chocolate.

I love how to blend the nutrition and taste together. I am concerned with the white sugar though. Can I replace it with brown sugar or any other healthy alternative?

I’m not a big “sweet” fan but this recipe looks like it has a great combination of fruit and sweet so I think I’ll try it. I am more of an eggs, bacon, and toast kind of girl but this may just satisfy the morning beast!
