BBQ Chicken Drumsticks

Ingredients
For BBQ Sauce:
- 3 garlic cloves, minced
- 1 small onion, chopped
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- 1 tsp mustard powder
- 1 cup ketchup
- 1/8 cup cup apple cider vinegar
- 1/8 cup Worcestershire sauce
- 3 tbsp brown sugar
- 1/2 cup apple juice
- 1 tbsp chili flakes
- salt to taste
The Rest of Ingredients:
- 8 drumsticks
- salt, pepper to taste
- cooking oil for brushing
Directions
To make the sauce, in a saucepan, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the onion and cook for 5 minutes. Add the garlic, chili flakes, mustard and cook for 30 seconds.
Add the rest of ingredients. Bring mixture to a boil, then lower the heat and simmer for 25 minutes or until it reduces by half. Place the sauce in a blender and blend until smooth.
Pour 1/2 of the sauce in a large resealable plastic bags and add the chicken. Seal the bag and marinate the chicken for 30 minutes at room temperature
Drain and discard marinade. Prepare grill for indirect heat over medium-low heat (about 350°F). Brush the grill rack with cooking oil.
Sprinkle chicken with salt. Place the chicken on the grill and grill it for 15-20 minutes on each side or until Chef Remi Thermometer inserted into the thickest part of a drumstick registers 170ºF.
Serve the chicken with the remaining sauce on the side.
