Child Friendly Cheesy Popcorn
No movie night with the kids is complete without a bowlful of moreish popcorn.
Here’s a fantastic recipe which takes standard popcorn and turns it into ‘deli’ popcorn, without using any butter or fats, and without compromising on taste!
Preparation time: 5mins
Cooking time: 10mins
Total time: 15mins
Servings: 4
Your ingredients:
- 2-3 cups of dry corn kernels
- 1/2 cup of Parmesan cheese
- Cayenne pepper, to taste
N.B. Use Chef Remi Measuring Cups for accurate measuring of ingredients.
Directions:
How to make your Cheesy Popcorn:
- Place the dry kernels into your electric popcorn popper (get your kids to help as they will love how this machine starts popping corn) and turn on.
- In the meantime, grate your Parmesan using the fine grate of a cheese grater. Always use fresh Parmesan as the dried stuff cannot compare to the flavor of freshly grated Parmesan.
- Place the popcorn into a big bowl, sprinkle over the Parmesan, and add Cayenne pepper to taste. Toss through.
- Stick on a movie, get the family around, and enjoy!

Chef Remi recommends:
The Chef Remi Cheese Grater is the complete solution for grating, shredding, grinding and zesting.
Use the coarse grate for grating semi-hard cheese, such as Cheddar, Monterey Jack, Colby-Jack, or for shredding vegetables, such as cabbage, carrots, cauliflower, onion, potato, zucchini etc.
Use the fine grate for grating hard cheese, such as Parmesan or Pecorino, ginger, bread into crumbs, almonds, grinding herbs and spices, or zesting citrus fruit.
Razor-sharp stainless steel teeth cut through food like a knife through butter, whilst also resisting rust, corrosion and dulling for a lifetime of use.
You can grate foods directly into the snap on container for mess-free food prep, and the snap on lid means you can store grated foods directly into the fridge, cupboard etc.
